Bio

Beau Dodson originally started writing rap music two years before the formation of High Hopes Of Sleeping. The project was called Broken Arrow, and had nothing to do with the style of music that he wanted to be involved with. So, desiring to create a more inventive and untouched area of music, he recruited the talents of extremely well rounded musician Matt Ramsdale, and changed the direction to a more serious type of writing and music style, which includes many experiences from his life that are turned into metaphors or even parables, if you will. An excellent example of this is in the second verse of the song “Waiter, There’s Some Dismal In My Soup!!!” stating “I think it’s me making me tired, not the pains of plans that backfired and expired, opening a door to many regrets but I stayed quiet when I was pulled from a template and stacked on a pallet while screaming for organization through cans that aren’t wired, and they all wear uniforms not for sacrifice, but just to be admired”. What the translation is, is his time in the armed forces that showed him how the best laid plans can disintegrate, how being manufactured just like everyone else was not a way of life he was looking at with anticipation, the true lack of communication that is involved with not just the military but every human being on the planet, and lastly how the darker side of some people can emerge even while upholding the constitution of a nation and it’s people they swore to protect, but it also goes for the everyday ‘Joe’ as well. He begins and sums the verse with a light taste of sarcasm that says, “No, it’s not the various problems in the world today making me sick tired…it’s probably just me. While still having a rap style core, the music was given an overload of the more harder music scene. Having influences such as He Is Legend, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, and the Deftones, all the way to 311 and the Gorillaz, just to mention a few, High Hopes Of Sleeping’s tunes are ripe with blood curdling screams, and howling and intense mellow vocals all throughout the accompaniment of rich drums and powerful mind-warping rhythms. With their debut album, Dawn Of The Dodson, already circulating the digital distribution realm throughout iTunes and other reputable stores, they are hard at work promoting and finding new ways to blow the lid off of venues and explode into the hearts of listeners.
