"LA"

I have only two words to describe Hills and Lemelin, brilliant and soulful.... absoulutely inspired, intimate and spontaneous.... - Raw Blues in LA

"Real Blues Magazine"

"....After listening to this album, I realize that Hills and Lemelin are easily the finest and most enjoyable Country Blues duo in Canada and far, far better than most of their U.S. counterparts who carry ‘big names’. These guys should be playing every Festival in North America, Europe and elsewhere and bringing this beautiful music to the masses. 5 Bottles of Hadacol for Acoustic Blues Heaven. Heck,"on t

"Radio Reviews"

" A fine Cd, wonderful and outstanding.." Holger Petersen CKUA Radio

"Excellent new CD" Reverend Ron CJSW radio

"Wonderful and fabulous new CD"
David Ward CKUA - CKUA Radio, Alligator Records, CJSW Radio

"Blast of Blues"

While it is always a pleasure to see Juno nominated Twilight Hotel, I was more impressed with the Calgary delta-blues duo, Bill Hills and Ray Lemelin", the chaismatic harp player gave off a strong Big Dave Maclean vibe while Lemelin nailed the delta blues licks on the guitar.... - Lethbridge Sun Times

"Hills and Lemelin"

Calgary's Bill Hills and Ray Lemelin are a no-frills acoustic blues duo. There are no gimmicks or guests, just live off the floor harp and guitar in a pleasing program of originals and covers. Asking Tim Williams to produce was inspired. As a duo they remind me more of Cephas and Wiggins than Sonny and Brownie,....This is very difficult music to perform well, especially with the greats right at hand for compairson, Hills and Lemelin do it well." - Maple Blues Pixka of the Month

"Bruce Iglauer"

I'm impressed that your performances are song centered and you don't try to be instrumental show-offs. Instead you play the song itself, with tasteful solos that are short and help create the mood and tell the stories. Also you sing in natural voices instead of the fake black-isms that a lot of white artists go for.
A low key and satisfying record. I am sure I would enjoy you, especially in an intimate setting where the nuances could be heard..." - Alligator Records

"A New Fan"

"... I saw them at the Ironwood at their CD release and I was BLOWN away. You could have heard a pin drop in there, they were SO compelling....

( There were 100 people in the club that night...) - Anon
