"Get ready for the new Hindsight album"

Friday, April 4, 2008

Spring is the time for renewal. It's also a good time for bands to release new albums.

Appleton band Hindsight, fresh off a Wisconsin Area Music Industry award nomination for group of the year, will unveil its new album, "My World" at a gig Saturday at the Tap Haus in Kaukauna.

"My World" was recorded at Smart Studios in Madison, where albums such as Nirvana's "Nevermind" were made, as well as Simple Studios in Green Bay and Burst Studios in Wauwatosa. Justin Perkins, who's quietly on his way to becoming the next Butch Vig, was the producer.

The CD includes a number of notable guests, including Hammond B3 organ player Joey Huffman, who's toured with Matchbox Twenty, Soul Asylum and others. Appleton cellist Matt Turner also contributed.

The power-pop influence of artists like Matchbox Twenty and John Mayer is evident on tracks like the radio-ready "Rain On Me," and Hindsight shows it can crank it up, on songs like "Away," or lay back, on tunes like "Tonight Tonight."

The band is certainly expecting big things from "My World," as it has plans to shoot a video and tour beyond the state's borders.

In addition to the band of the year WAMI, Hindsight is also up for best male vocalist (Michael Wendland) and drummer (Todd Hellman). The band won a WAMI last year for best new artist/band.

Bio

Our new album "My World" was released on April 12, 2008. We recorded at Smart Studios in Madison, Simple Studios in Green Bay, and Burst Studios in Wauwatosa, WI. Our producer, Justin Perkins, mixed the album in his secret cave, and Gavin Lurssen did the final tweak with mastering at Lurssen Mastering in Hollywood, CA. We are happy to announce we had a special guest B3 player on the album, Joey Huffman, who tours with such acts as Matchbox Twenty, Soul Asylum, Butch Walker, and Bowling For Soup. We also had Matt Turner a guest cellist, some great background vocalists, and some other goodies for your listening pleasure too. We have an entertainment group we will be working with to produce a video for one of the songs (we haven't decided yet). We also won the WAMI award for Best New Artist/Band in Wisconsin for 2007. We were nominated for WAMI Best Male Vocalist and Best Drummer, and just recently won Best Band of 2008 for the state of Wisconsin. All that plus playing with Puddle Of Mudd at Summerfest last year, opening for The Black Crowes and Grand Funk Railroad at The Leach Ampitheatre last Summer, and a great sense of direction is making this group something special. What we all can't wait for is our tour which will start after Labor Day of 2008. We are excited to share our music with the entire world and meet some great new people in the meantime.

Stay tuned for more news as it becomes available! Thanks to all of our fans who have given us the chance to become something great ... and hopefully something greater. Thanks everyone ... take care :)
