"Skappleton Festival"

"Hired Geeks have put on a great show for us for the last six years. They're an excellent band to work with." - Zach Erickson, Skappleton Festival coordinator

"Skratch Magazine"

"Chicks dig nerds! Everyone loves a good nerd, and if you're anyone, youll be in love with these guys." - skratchmagazine.com

"Milwaukee Rocks website/publication"

These guys hail from Wisconsin with an original and upbeat ska sound. Every song on Proridiculous has that catchy backbeat that ska is so famous for. For once there is something different coming out of Kenosha. ‘Charity’ has a creepy ska sound to it that caught me off guard. ‘Spank’ brings an in your face ska-rock sound to the table. Check these guys out, they rock." - Lucas J. Keller, columnist

"The Non-Classic Bass Trombone"

Bass Trombone in Other Styles.
Jazz Rock: "A nice example of a Superbone (valve/slide combo trombone) that emulates the bass trombone by playing in the low register can be found in Hired Geeks @ "Proridiculous." " - by Eliezer Aharoni (Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra)

Bio

For the last 9 years, Hired Geeks have been a staple in the midwest ska and experimental rock scenes, intriguing audiences with their offbeat rhythms, key changes, and unorthodox yet catchy songwriting. Hired Geeks formed in the fall of 2000 in Kenosha, WI, with many of the members working together as early as 1995. They intricately blend touches of jazz, metal, progressive, funk, new wave and reggae; and apply classical-modern musical ideas such as polytonalism and polyrhythmics to rock and ska.

Touring extensively throughout the midwest and into the east coast, Hired Geeks have shared the stage with national acts such as Les Claypool, Mindless Self Indulgence and Tub Ring, as well as ska legends The Toasters, Mustard Plug, and The Skatalites. Hired Geeks played in the first and second "Ska Is Dead" tours (with Catch 22, Mustard Plug, Big D & the Kids Table, The Planet Smashers, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Streetlight Manifesto, and MU330), and performed at the renowned annual ska fest "Skappleton" for the last 7 years. The Geeks have teamed up with former Toasters and Pilfers front man Coolie Ranx for a soon to be released single entitled "Schwipe." Rob Kleiner of Tub Ring recently produced the Geeks' single, "Here We Are", for their music video due out 2010.
