HIS DIVINE CREATION
His Divine Creation a male gospel singing group, officially formed over ten years ago under the direction of its current leader and President Clayton A. Harris, the group performs a broad range of Christian music. Each of its four members brings influences, which diversify the group’s repertoire.
Clayton A. Harris holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration, a teacher in the criminal justice program and police academy, is also a published songwriter who plays the bass and lead guitar; He is a former choir director. He is a police chief by occupation with over 25 years of law enforcement experience, but brings both classical and southern gospel influences to the group.
Jamal Basim is an auxiliary police officer with the City of Cleveland, a former male model and modeling agency owner, for over 24 years he has been a plant manager for an assembly division in the Cleveland area, Jamal serves his church as a choir member and a drummer, Jamal lends a contemporary gospel influence to the group.
Pastor Rory Tate is an auxiliary police officer with the City of Cleveland, a praise and worship leader, he is a former member of a popular gospel recording group Rhythm and Gospel, he leads a powerful new ministry in the Cleveland, Ohio area as Pastor of a new Church named Victory, he introduces spirtural leadership, with modern upbeat elements into His Divine Creation’s musical styles.
Calvin Cook, a 17 year veteran Cleveland police officer, formerly assigned to the missing persons unit and also the senior citizens liaison officer, a former Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer (DARE) for over 3 years, presently retired, he gives the group its rich Black gospel flavor.
This mix of styles and music genres makes His Divine Creation a successful and extremely popular attraction. Through song, the group ministers to “standing room only” crowds at educational institutions as well as prisons across the state of Ohio. His Divine Creation’s rainbow of musical styles has also gained them overwhelming acceptance from churches both inside and outside the African American Community.
The calling of His Divine Creation illustrates their personal and spiritual commitment: To portray real men, singing real gospel music before God’s people. The group sets high standards for themselves. As a result, their emphasis is not only on their musical contributions. They are of a like mind that their personal and professional lives also ministers to others as they perform. They seek to be strong, positive role models that young men can emulate
Vision Statement
We were created to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in song, to the uttermost parts of the earth, while projecting a positive image of male leadership, high morals, and supreme family qualities to our youth and to the victims of society. We plan to touch those who need to see that there is power in believing and trusting Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.
