Bio

History Of Harry is a four piece band from Dublin. Having been influenced by inspired acts such as Jamiroquai, Galactic, Queens Of The Stone Age and Herbie Hancock, their music is best described as rock 'n’ roll with a lot of funk 'n’ soul. They first appeared on the music scene two years ago and have steadily grown in creativity and popularity, earning a reputation throughout the Irish music scene as a must see experience. After gigging throughout Ireland, honing their music and live performance skills, they released their debut album, 'Trainman', in September 2008 at the Button Factory, Temple Bar. The showcase gig, as well as the 'Trainman' LP, which was stocked at Tower Records, sold out, creating a large, loyal fan-base for the band and garnering rave reviews.

Following the L.P launch History Of Harry have been played on all major radio stations, such as 98fm, Today fm, Spin 103, 2fm and Phantom fm. However, the band thrives on live performance, and the thrill of a live crowd, and as a result has increased its profile by gigging consistently, playing at established venues such as; Pygmalion, Crawdaddy, The Village, Whelans, Vicar St and The Academy in Dublin, as well as The Empire in Belfast, Crane Lane in Cork, and McPhails, Drogheda. The impressiveness of History Of Harry's live performances has been acknowledged by them gaining residencies at the BleuNote, Le Cirk and Shebeen Chic, (Dublin), as well headlining the NCAD Ball in 2009. They have also gained respect from those in the music industry by winning 2009’s 'Dublin Live and Unsigned' contest, where the band competed against over 30 unsigned acts throughout Dublin, to finally win a coveted Fiat Scudo van for transporting equipment, and studio time to record their second L.P.

This summer, (2009), also saw History Of Harry hit the festival circuit, where they played on the Saturday mainstages of The Life Festival, Westmeath, and Knockanstockan, Wicklow, and the Unsigned Stage at Le Cheile, Meath. History Of Harry were extremely well received by the festival goers who appreciated the energetic performances of each band member, the funky danceable tunes and the amount of work the band has put into making their live sets into something that has to be experienced by any festival goer worth their salt.
