Bio

Hogan Says! Is a Detroit based band, who has been playing live shows across the state of Michigan for the past year and a half. Their self-proclaimed rock/progressive style is full of energy and innovation. The music is based around their live performances. It is very important to them to let their music grow and evolve, never forgetting their improvisational roots during their live performances. Equally important is to not let their spontaneous moments become redundant, or boring. The band is made up of four very different people, each contributing their own personalities and styles into the band. There is Maurice Hogan on guitar, who has a great ear for music, and very strong song writing skills. He is an excellent guitar player that not only contributes great rhythm, but can also dish out tasty leads. On lead guitar and vocals is Chris Emmerson. Chris tries to come up with unique melodies that are catchy. His singing style nicely accompanies the melodic nature of their music. On bass is Dan Zylinski. He is an extremely talented musician, putting down solid, super funky bass lines. Chris McIntosh is a fast paced drummer and is exciting to watch. Hogan Says! is a young band, but their hard work ethic, consistency, and resume indicates otherwise. The band has been playing live shows throughout Michigan from the Detroit scene to the college scene. The band played to a sold out crowd at the Majestic Theater in Detroit on Thanksgiving Eve 2006, sharing the stage with Bump, and Natives of the New Dawn. They have also played the Magic Stick, Hard Rock Cafe, Fifth Avenue, Smalls and many other venues and were asked back for a second year at Detroit's Metro Times Blowout music festival. Hogan Says! is very open minded and diverse, sharing the bill with not only other rock bands, but also hip hop, reggae, and solo acoustic acts, making them appealing to many audiences. Their goal is to always make good music that their audiences can enjoy and relate to, while at the same time keeping things fresh and interesting for themselves.
