Forlorn

Written By: Hogen Rormark

FORLORN

you lying naked on a four-poster bed
with your eyes rolled back as if you were dead
but you're not - you're warm
and love forlorn
and you want me to be your baby

light from a candle that lives in a jar
I'm getting the feeling that we won't go too far
but I'll try my best to forget the rest
cause I want you to be my baby

with the tension in this room
why the face? why the gloom?

In a world gone half-crazy we're along for the ride
with our eyes shut tight and arms open wide
we strike, we maim, we shoot, then aim
in blind pursuit of happiness

with the tension in this room
why the face? why the gloom?

so it's time that I leave with the oncoming dawn
"I think I'm in love" - you say with a yawn
but you're not - you're warm and love forlorn
and you want me to be your baby
but you're not you're warm and love forlorn
and you want me to be your baby

Talking To Myself

Talking To Myself

I want to please you - I want to ease your pain
but I'm so lazy - here in my window frame
you look so lovely - the way you look at me
I just can't help but - invite you in to see
my room - my stairway to a spoon
drinking burgundy with ice at noon
collecting pieces from a book - that sits on a shelf
while I'm talking to myself

talking to myself

dirty dishes, dirty clothes
greasy hair, underwear
can I hold you - do you mind?
won't you stay for a little while

it sounds so boring - but it'll be okay
we'll play some records and smoke the day away
I'll cook you supper - I'm pretty good like that
we'll watch a movie or just sit and chat in my
room - my stairway to a spoon
drinking Jack & Coke at noon
I'll read you poems from a book that i hide under my chair
and take out when no-one's here

talking to myself
talking to myself...
