Hokum is a smash mouth, energy packed, ball of hip-hop talent from the midwest.

Biography

HOKUM formed in 2001 in Escanaba, MI is a unique hip-hop group comprised of members Sheep Shippy Ship and SKiTZO. With off the wall stage antics and an unmatched lyrical versatility on record, they have made a name for them selves in the upper mid-west hip-hop scene. Sheep Shippy Ship, the self proclaimed “Suburban Hoodlum” delivers a more abrasive upfront lyrical presence on the microphone by tackling subjects too hot to touch by most. SKiTZO, the “Living Cartoon”, captivates and entertains audiences with a solid, yet multifaceted performance in the studio as well as during live shows. With a lyrical structure that focuses in on more personal topics intermingled with a zany, irrational side, He rounds out the duo. Combined they have independently released twelve full length studio albums, and have booked, promoted and headlined dozens of live shows in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan since 2001; With the upcoming release of HOKUM’s third full length group record, “Tippin’ The Scale”, HOKUM looks to branch out to a broader audience and trudge down a more regional road, establishing them selves as the self proclaimed “KINGS OF THE UNDERGROUND”.
