The best kept secret in music

These motherf**kers truly are calling
in an air strike. Holding God Hostage,
HGH, is Fort Walton Beach’s own intense,
four-piece metal band. They create
musical chaos mixed with a pinch of
groove and a dash of ballad onboard a
roller coaster of emotion. Holding God Hostage is fronted by singer Josh Hostage. Hostage
assaults audiences with a scream from the deep underbelly of evil where they probably have
God held hostage. The other members of the HGHmilitia include the hottest drummer on the
scene, Mr.Raheem Tobias, bassist Shane Lewanda, and Spit on the electric axe. I got the
chance to hang at a practice where I got some revealing insight from the boys of the band.
“We’re going through a rebirthing process right now, trying to establish and fine tune our
sound,” says Raheem. “Right now, our audience is getting used to HGHnot being so simple as
a band.” They punch fans in the gut with a power riff then slide into a slower groove that only
holds their neck still enough until they can rear back with musical fists ready to punch again.
Singer Josh Hostage says “Raheem is the fourth and best drummer we’ve had to date,
and we’re doing our best as a band to promote, play, and keep this hidden scene alive.”
