Bio

Playing from the Heart since late November of 2009 Holding Space has evolved from playing their first show on the beach with a PVC stage with painters plastic wrapped around it and wooden pallets to stand on, to being selected for the Wakarusa Music Festival in 2011. Holding Space has grown out of the traditional way of playing sets carefully weaving together their sets by piecing together grooves and riffs from their entire catalog of songs instead of playing song after song. The music spans many genres from hard tribal rhythms to chill airy spaces to bassy trance dance rhythms to completely OFF THE WALL haywire psychedelia. Holding Space is known for filling as much possible space with sound, and each member together strives to overload your senses each show. Holding Space tours steadily throughout the year, sprinkling the love all over Texas, Midwest, and Colorado. Holding Space has taken very big steps in their first year and a half sharing stages with acts like Leftover Salmon, Conspirator, Greensky Bluegrass, Hot Buttered Rum, Euforquestra, Phutureprimitive, Lance Herbstrong, Zoogma, and Mountain Sprout, and playing festivals such as Wakarusa, Tall Tree Lake, Glowing Souls, and Oxblood Music and Arts Fest. With their powerful and innovative style Holding Space is rapidly capturing the attention of people all over the country, and continuing to evolve with the conscious intentions that are put into the music on the daily. Holding Space is pushing the boundaries of the jam scene by expanding out of the ordinary and doing things differently. Since the bands live shows are quite different than their studio recorded songs, it provides the fans with opportunities to really experience something fresh and new each show. Each set can very from the softest spacey grooves, to the most high energy dance sets that go for hours with no breaks. Holding Space is sure to continue on this wave of momentum in the coming years and expand through the outer reaches of our own selves.
