"Spring Hill Worship: Back To You"

"Back to You" is the 6th project in the Spring Hill Worship series, focusing on going back strong into relationship with God and daily walking fearlessly with Him.

The fourteen tracks cover a wide range of styles, from Reggie Stone's dramatic "I Give to Christ My All," to Detour 180's anthemic "Hallelujah," from Billy Sprague's pop-infused "No Condemnation," to Carl Cartee's rugged rock track, "Amazing." Many of these songs are Sunday morning ready and a strong congregational feel runs through the whole project, which makes sense as the mission of Spring Hill seems to be just that, to support the church in its worship to the King. The title track, delivered quietly but powerfully by Sam Mullins, expresses the album's focal point succinctly, "lead me back, back to You."

A number of these artists have their own individual Spring Hill projects out, and have been reviewed by Suite as well, including Carl Cartee, Anadara, and Scott Riggan. Their contributions to "Back to You" are significant ones, as are Holland Davis' pop-rocker "I Will Stand" and Joe Beck's excellent "Dust," a straight-forward worship track that reaches up from a humble stance, always the most affective starting place. I also liked Tom Lane's quiet ballad, "A New Song." But it's closer "Not What My Hands Have Done" by Buddy Greene that really tears it up, Jason Webb's B3 simmering ardently beneath. It's this touch of wild worship that the Spring Hill series should consider including more often, certainly fitting in the worship of such a wildly energetic Creator.

Bio

"I don’t know about you... but I want to experience everything that God has for me. I want to understand what it means when Jesus says that out of the depths of our being will flow rivers of living water. I want to apprehend those things for which Christ apprehended me. I don’t want to settle for anything less than all that God has for me." This is the heart and passion that underscores Holland's heart for worship and ministering to others.

As the President / CEO of Worship Life, Inc., their mission is to encourage the worship life of every believer. "When the community of believers gather together, something amazing happens. I've seen God save people and heal people simply as they encountered Him through worship." Holland describes worship as "our prayers set to music." As a conference speaker, Holland travels the country encouraging worship leaders to passionately pursue God and to allow God to set them free from anything that keeps them from expressing authentic love for God through their lives. He has also launched WorshipSong.com and WorshipConference.org as resources for worship leaders.

Although he rarely likes to speak about his achievements, Holland Davis is an award winning singer/songwriter, worship leader and conference speaker. His most popular song "Let It Rise" has been featured on the platinum selling WoW Worship series. In 2007 he was received an ASCAP award for the Most Played Christian Song for Big Daddy Weave's version of Let It Rise. Spring Hill Worship described his music as Power Pop.

Prior to entering into full time music ministry, he was the A&R and Marketing Director for Maranatha! Music where he originated the ground breaking label "Worship Underground" and the Gold selling Top 25 Praise Series.

He currently serves as the Worship Leader and Assistant Pastor of Ocean Hills Church in San Juan Capistrano where Jim Nicol is the Senior Pastor. He also leads worship for the Exodus International Conference and hosts the Worship Life Conference in Southern California. He is also married to his beautiful bride Roxie and has three kids... Austin, Chase and Madison.
