Bio

Holliwood Dre is a 20 Year old Artist/Producer/CEO from Atlanta, GA, who spends the majority of his time on stage, creating beats , or writing songs with intentions of making a hit every time. He's a Perfectionist!
Dre has an amazing ear for music, from Hip Hop, and R&B, to Pop, and Soul. His musical influences are mainly rap artists such as, Outkast, Ludacris, Three 6 Mafia and 8ball & MJG. He grew up in the studio following his mother who vocal trained and managed several recording artists, writers and producers and his father, a former bass player for several funk, rock, gospel, and r&b band from 1980 – 1991.
By age 12, Dre taught himself to create tracks on fruity loops. By summer 2005 he started going to the studio with his mom to read the manuals and learn how to use the recording and production programs such as , Logic Pro , Digital Performer, and Pro Tools. He then found out that he had the natural talent to play piano by ear. His music progressed from then on.
In the summer of 2007, Dre began to write rhymes and hooks over his creative southern style beats. In the 07-08 school year he formed his own rap group called Yung Street Legendz (YSL). He and YSL showcased their talent for the first time at a high school talent show contest at Westlake High School. By the summer of 2008 the group broke up.
Early 2009, in the cafeteria of Westlake, Dre and his former basketball teammate, Will $elf, who was also a contestant in the talent show, decided to build a label. They came up with a temporary name called Southern Gentlemen because of their smooth, intelligent, and raw but harmless ways.
Southern Gentlemen started off with artists such as ,Holliwood Dre (CEO), Will $elf (Co-CEO), and The Hash Club: DOH , HASH, and J. Red . Not too long after, Dre scored a spot on, V103's famous, Atlanta DJ/Host Greg Street's Class of 09 Mixtape. Shortly after, Dre dropped his debut mixtape "Holliwood Hillz", which consisted of his catchy hooks, his beats with his signature low bass'd kicks to top it off with his clever but raunchy lyrics.
He continued that same formula as SG's (Southern Gentlemen's) buzz grew at school and online. By the end of summer 2009, he was well known in his area because of his homemade videos and clever, freestyle series called Haymakers. He defined Haymakers, metaphorically as "hard hittin' punchlines".
In his senior, Dre had two classes with Makemsai, who also had an interest in music. Makemsai then contacted Dre as a client to get in the studio. By the end of the 09-10 school year, Dre and the other SG members were so impressed with Makemsai's progression that they welcomed him to the team.
Early 2010, Dre met his cousin, Dee Bender, for the first time at Dre's brother's studio. They instantly connected on a music standpoint. They both felt the must to keep in touch.
In the summer of 2011, Dre, Dee, and Will collaborated together on a project called "The Grind Age", which had 1,200 digital downloads in less than 6 hours. It currently has 13,000. This project caused so much hype that Dre and Will decided to replace the 'Gentlemen' with 'Grind' to form Southern Grind or SGrind for short.
Southern Grind Music Group LLC is currently doing shows at different events and colleges parties all over Atlanta, striving to break out of the local scene.
