Bio
Holly & Evan live for the blues. Both from long, rich musical backgrounds, Holly Taormina and Evan Conway have updated the tradition of the Barrelhouse, with their soulful vocals and unique accompaniment. Together, they showcase a wide range of original and cover material, in the styles of Blues, Jazz, and Soul. Hollys songwriting comes from a lifetime of listening to, reading about, and (especially) living the blues. This is evident in their original songs, such as Gettin' Out and If I Said It," in which she passionately tells a story of heartache, anger, and bitterness. These, and other originals, have been featured on Upstate New York and Massachusetts radio stations (WEQX 102.7, WEXT 97.7, WVCR 88.3, and WRPI 91.5) both during live interviews, and, studio recordings. In the three and a half years they have been together, they have been highly in demand, gaining the attention of the Capital Region Blues Network, who gained them entry into the Internation Blues Challenge, in Memphis TN, in 2013.
