"Down in Deep Studio"

“Holly Allen is one of the most
enchanting artists I have ever worked with. She manages to combine a sincere innocence with the maturity of a full grown woman. It is not possible to hear her and remain untouched by her spirit." - Producer Marty Kerns

Bio

Kissed by the Deep South, Holly writes and performs compelling roots-country music. Her gift is in the story telling, an intricate weaving of past and present that is the world around her. This EPK is a sample of Holly’s talent. Her catalog covers a lot of ground, born from observations of life and expressed through melodies that linger in your heart and leave you wanting more.

Holly Allen grew up at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, emerging from a long line of practicing musicians. Her father taught her a few chords on an old “taterbug” mandolin and when her hands got big enough, she reached for his guitar.

Influenced by bluegrass, country, the blues and old time rock and roll, she began singing and making up songs as a child. Very soon she discovered that she had a passion for songwriting and has been playing her guitar and penning songs ever since.
Holly performs throughout the Southeast, and has been a featured artist at The Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, TN, Prism Coffee House in Charlottesville, VA, Atlanta’s Red Light Café, Eddie’s Attic and Smith’s Ode Bar. She has also performed live on WRFG’s Blues in the Morning Show and has had the good fortune to work with legendary producer Johnny Sanlin, as well as stellar musicians Bill Stewart, Pete Carr, David Hood, Spooner Oldham, and Scott Boyer
