Holly Stanton

Through perseverance and commitment, Holly Stanton has managed to take the dreams and desires she held as a young woman and turn them into a life long gift of creating song and music. Drawing early inspiration from the likes of Elton John and other super pop artists of the day, Holly quickly learned how to craft her music into interesting and easily remembered pop rock songs.

Holly’s first album, TEMPTATION (Solid Smoke Records), contained a wonderful and sometimes eclectic compilation of music featuring ‘in your face’ pop songs like that of the title track 'TEMPTATION', to simple beautiful ballads like 'When I go To Sleep' - there's even a reggae inspired track along with a sprinkling of quasi-new wave tracks! Holly’s raw vocal imagery and tight pop rock understanding forms the foundation of the entire ‘TEMPTATION’ album. With that foundation now set in stone, ‘THE VALIANT YEARS’ continues on in the same vein - only better.

TEMPTATION brought Holly numerous critical accolades including a triple same week ‘Pick of the Week’ by BILLBOARD, CASHBOX and RECORD WORLD magazines – a feat only nearly matched by The Beatles when they had been bestowed with two simultaneous picks during the early heady Beatlemania days. This ‘triple shot’ of sorts landed Holly an opening spot on the premier music television show, SOLID GOLD.

THE VALIANT YEARS is Holly’s latest offering and is yet another stunning example of her unique song writing and music crafting skills. With a little help from her friends, Holly manages to capture a somewhat more sophisticated sound compared to TEMPTATION while continuing to hold on to much of the ‘raw' sound of her earlier work.

Like TEMPTATION, THE VALIANT YEARS includes a wide cross section of pop music styling; weaving from the haunting and intimate sound of ‘Tonight’ to the outright pop rock explosion of ‘It Feels Like Thunder’. There's even a ‘south of the boarder’ flavoring in the pop guise of ‘Costa Del Sol’.

THE VALIANT YEARS is a delightful and powerful indulgence and it's quite apparent that Holly makes no excuses for any of her music. A must have for anyone who enjoys catchy pop tunes.

All in all, Holly has continued to grow and explore her musical artistry and THE VALIANT YEARS is a wonderful example of her growth. With more music in the wings, its apparent that the dream she once held as a young girl is now her true reality. Play it loud!
