Charlotte, NC/Atlanta, GA based Hollywood in September know what they want and how they want to get there. Hollywood in September was formed by five guys that came together in early 2007, all from different states, with the exception of the 2 Affleck brothers. Each member of the band has one objective in mind... To play music every day to whomever would listen. They have played every kind of show from birthday parties in their home town to clubs in the breadbasket of America.
“I like the kind of music where you’re driving down the road just staring into oblivion because you’re totally swept up by the song. That’s the kind of music I want to write – something that puts you in a trance.” So says vocalist Chris Affleck on the high expectations he’s set for the sound of Hollywood in September, the brash and hard-rocking young 5 piece.
Lyrically, Hollywood in September explores dark, introspective themes of love, desperation, and despair. But the group insists its fundamental message is a positive one. “The point of our songs and band is to let people know that they’re not alone in dealing with bad feelings or pain or anything that they go through,” says Affleck, who pens most of the words. “That’s life and that’s human. They’re not alone, and we’re going through it, too.”
The band records and produces their demo ep from their own basement, thanks to guitarist Randall Karikker. They have also recorded a video for their song, “Wake up,” Which will be available April, 2007.
