"Clematis By Night featuring Vince Neil and Hollywood Lovescene"

Clematis by Night Presents a FREE concert featuring Vince Neil.

Rocker Returns to Clematis for another Feel Good night in Downtown West Palm Beach
www.clematisbynight.net

The Downtown Development Authority are pleased to announce that (March 6, 2008 – West Palm Beach) Clematis by Night and the Downtown Development Authority are pleased to announce that they will be hosting celebrated rocker, Vince Neil, for a FREE concert on Thursday, April 3 in Centennial Square. Vince Neil has been touted as one of rock 'n' roll's quintessential front men and more recently as one of the investors in the downtown revival. Having performed in West Palm Beach this past January for the opening of his Clematis Street bar and grill, Dr. Feelgoods’, Vince Neil will now bring a second concert to West Palm Beach fans at the City’s hottest spot for live music, Clematis by Night.
After twenty years and a dozen albums, Vince Neil kick-started the rock n' roll hearts of several generations of fans as the front man of Mötley Crüe, one of the most dynamic and energetic bands to ever grace the stages of rock 'n' roll. As the lead singer of this legendary hell-raising band, Vince Neil and Mötley Crüe created THE rock sound of the `80s and influenced scores of other bands
with multi-million sellers such as Shout at the Devil, Theatre of Pain, Girls, Girls, Girls and Dr. Feelgood. The band separated after over a decade together only to reunite again in 1995 with even more success, setting up its own label, Mötley Records, and re-releasing expanded editions of its entire catalog as well as two new studio albums. Their best selling tell-all autobiography, The Dirt,
will soon be made into a feature film. While the band takes a well-deserved break, and before beginning work on a new
Mötley Crüe album and tour, Neil has been keeping busy with a number of side projects including the reality show The Surreal Life, some appearances on network TV shows, and being a camp counselor at Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp. This
savvy businessman also stays busy with a tattoo parlor in Las Vegas, his own Tequila company, West Palm’s own Dr. Feelgoods’ and performing solo concerts on the road. Vince Neil is unstoppable both on and off the stage, and he’s
bringing that energy back to West Palm Beach for another feel good night! Opening for Vince Neil is the much buzzed about local band, Hollywood Lovescene. This new pop/rock band with a hint of nouveau punk is infectious with its new brand of music. Since the release of their first EP, Hollywood Lovescene has licensed their entire album to MTV which continually features their music throughout MTV shows such as "NEXT" and "EXPOSED," and many more. This group of young and talented songwriters is destined to make a scene in pop music. A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

CLEMATIS BY NIGHT

"Wellington Based Band Aims To Set A New Musical Standard"

Wellington-Based Band Aims To Set A New Musical Standard

Meet five guys who are blending music’s past and present with what they hope will be a bright future. Together they comprise Hollywood Lovescene, a Wellington-based band that next month will release its first CD Hollywood lovescene, issued independently. Wellington resident Joe Malmuth, owner of entertainment management company PM Entertainment, formed the band this past March.

“I was looking for people with different musical backgrounds and also people who had different business strengths,” said Malmuth, who attended Summit Christian School in West Palm Beach and Florida Atlantic University along with his friend and drummer, Jonathan London.

“I wanted to piece it together in a way that the complete unit functions on its own to be able to handle all the rigors of writing and performing, as well as putting together the total package,” Malmuth said.

Included that total package, for example, is London’s experience as a musician and model, and lead singer Julian Vasquez’s experience as a songwriter and producer. Vasquez, who met Malmuth at FAU, lives in Parkland. He grew up in Parkland watching his father (also named Julian) perform at various South Florida venues.

“My father probably was my biggest influence,” Vasquez said. “I’ve been reading music since I was four years old. I began playing piano and guitar when I was seven or eight. I picked up a trumpet when I was ten. I can’t seem to put it down.”

Malmuth knew that with pals London and Vasquez he had the makings of top band, but he needed a couple of guitar players. He found them in Carlos Zada of Wellington and Ryan Panella of Boynton Beach. Zada’s background, in particular, shows off the kind of diversity Malmuth sought in Hollywood Lovescene, as he holds an engineering degree from Cornell University.

Hollywood Lovescene’s sound?

“I like to think that if Journey were playing and popular, and if it modernized its sound, that would be us. A modern day Journey,” Vasquez said.

“Music in the 1960s and ’70s kind of changed the world,” Malmuth said. “It was powerful and emotional. We each feel music today doesn’t do that — it’s all cookie-cutter stuff. Music 20 and 30 years ago moved people and was uplifting. That’s where our name comes from. We want to set the new standard — raise the bar a little bit. Kind of force other musicians out there to do the same thing.”

Until the January release of their self-titled EP, those other musicians and fans can hear Hollywood Lovescene’s music on MySpace.com and IChannelMusic.com. The CD, Malmuth said, will feature 7songs, including the single “No Ordinary Girl,” which currently is getting FM airplay in Florida and Canada. The band writes all its own songs, which it performs at venues such as Respectable Street and Swampgrass Willie’s in West Palm Beach.

“We each come up with ideas,” Vasquez said. “We try them out, and if they don’t work we can them. I arrange the vocals and come up with different guitar lines, but everybody puts in their own talent. It’s really a collective effort.”

That effort already has paid dividends. A music director at MTV, Malmuth said, recently heard Hollywood Lovescene’s music on MySpace.com and signed a licensing agreement to play tracks from their EP on the network’s “Next” show beginning next month.

“That’s pretty big for us,” Malmuth said.

It’s also proof to Malmuth that he has Hollywood Lovescene on the right track to success.

“The business side is really my forte. That’s what I like doing. It’s almost like a sick obsession,” Malmuth said. “I get a great high off performing, but if I get a business deal set up just how I want it, for me that’s a greater high than performing.”
