Mike Smooth a native from South Carolina, that got his start in the music industry 1994, as an executive producer and promoting a local group then called the Souled Out Bumbz , under So Smooth Productions.
He has worked with many acts, signed and unsigned as well. Mike has worked with South Carolinas own COLLARDGREENS, 2 Tight Entertainment, KRS1, NAS,Wu Tang Clan, mixtape pioneer Ron G, and many others.
After several years of producing and promoting acts, Mike decided to get more involved with the business side of music. In 2001 he written and published his first lesson(book) , titled “Pimpin Da Music Industry – Distribution Dealz & How They Work. Creating a buzz ,and receiving letter from people all over the country , even from the notorious Marion “Suge” Knight.
Since then , He has written several article , that was published online and in newsletters , He has been interviewed in several online videos , including The Southern Hip Hop Take Over featuring some of the Dirty South’s hottest rap acts and DJs.Also Mike has re-written lesson one under a new title. Overstanding the Music Biz.
Currently Mike is promoting lesson one , he has a podcast show and is putting the finishing touch on his audio CD and is recruiting artist that needs Global distribution and ringtones.
In the near future he plans on creating a Hiphopumentary that will feature Major and unsigned acts.
