Bio
Longtime friends hailing from Heber City, Utah, Thomas Brunson, Jeff Vanderlinden, Zaz McDonald and Steven Siggard formed Holy Water Buffalo in 2009. With a combination of jangly guitar, vocal harmony, deep bass, melodic organ and dynamic drumming they create original music in a 60’s/70’s style. Holy Water Buffalo soon infiltrated the music scene in Utah, getting regular radio play and countless shows.
In December of 2010, Holy Water Buffalo released their self-titled debut album. It was recorded and engineered by the band with the help of grammy-nominated piano player Richard Souther and was mixed at The Mastering Lab. Influenced by bands like The Beatles, Neil Young, The Guess Who, Ryan Adams and The Strokes the album is a perfect blend of old and new.
The band has played such festivals as: Sundance Film, Powellapalooza, Desert Rocks, Denver Underground, Uncle Uncanny’s, Utah Arts; toured in: Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and California; been featured on NPR’s “Radio West”, channel 2 and 13 news, Salt Lake independent radio KRCL, RadioBoise; shared the stage with acts such as One Republic, Heartless Bastards, Mother Hips and Slightly Stoopid. Tamara Conniff, founder of the Comet.com and former Billboard magazine editor wrote in an article featured in The Huffington Post that, “they sound like the Kings of Leon should sound.”
Holy Water Buffalo is planning to tour nationally and internationally in the coming months. Look for them wherever good music is heard.
