"Honey Claws Gives The One Law"

Honey Claws, the dudes who meld hip hop with dope electronic production are back at it again. Releasing an album in August (pre-order HERE), they’re leaking two tunes for you to hear and to get hyped for the full release. Always on point for summery vibes, they are going a little darker with this one…at least the tunes you hear right here. But hearing the entire album, you happy-go-lucky lot who enjoy your party vibes, don’t be distraught, the Honey Claws release is well-rounded in sounds and vibes, but yes the darker edge is always there. You can’t be party all the damned time, y’know.

Care Proof involves Nate Dogg-like vocals from Jaleki, or as he is known around Austin, J.A.M.O.N., and of course Jon’s rapping and production. It’s always a dank affair when Sahs lays down on the beat, and this one is no different. Like the a boss level from Castlevania, this tune has you creeping, and slinking.

Then the tune Guttersnake involves some hardcharging guitar that provides a guttural quality for Jon’s rap that transverses laid back verses to the visceral chorus. It’s a tune that grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. You want edge, well here’s another one for you. Also from the upcoming album, this one shows that you’ll get it all when the full release drops.

Give Honey Claws (Soundcloud, Facebook) a follow, and pre-order the album (HERE) so you aren’t left out when it drops. - Waxhole

"Honey Claws - Care Proof"

Maybe this is just because I skipped breakfast, but the name “Honey Claws” makes me envision a donut that’s halfway between a bear claw and a Little Debbie honey bun. Booth debut Care Proof, sadly, does not come with delicious pastries, but it does happen to be an exclusive world premiere. On this LP single, the Austin, Texas twosome’s atmospheric, string-laced in-house boardwork sets the stage for rapped and sung bars detailing their laissez-faire approach to life. Has Care Proof‘s unique sound piqued your interest? Then be sure to cop Honey Claws’ sophomore album, One Law, when it drops independently on August 12. - DJ Booth

"What's so good?"

Honey Claws loves summer. And why shouldn't they? I mean, don't we all? As their song "I Love Summer" deftly illustrates, summer indeed offers up a lot to love. But one thing I'm loving about summer right now is this track.

Everything about it drips with the carefree party-time vibes this season cultivates. It's like hearing the school bell ring at the last period of the last day and feeling your responsibilities melt away. It's like slamming a Monster as you eye down the start of a three-month beach party.

Honey Claws is an outfit out of Austin who you might recognize from their track "Digital Animal," which was showcased on the Breaking Bad soundtrack last season. If you're not a fan of the show, don't let it get you down on Honey Claws. Their sound is funky and irreverent.

Shuffling through some of their older work, it's clear they aim to keep it fresh, upbeat, and generally sleazy (a combo I can stand behind). Check out their SoundCloud page for more tracks from their latest album Money Paws, as well as some B-sides that are definitely worth exploring. This is great music to get you amped for summer. - Indie Shuffle

Bio

A tasty new project from producer Thomas Sahs (Honey Claws, Midas) that features the talents of many different artists around the globe as well as an audiovisual stage performance that makes it rain!

It's about sitting on the couch and slanging' cribs. It's about getting your girl into a menage. It's about playin' much bass as you can through the biggest speakers you can find. But there is a kernel of artistic integrity in the music. Scope it.
