Bio
HoneyGrass originated in the summer of 2005 when two of the founding members met at a bluegrass festival in Northern Ontario. They have since forged their musical identity in an ever expanding circle of concerts, events, and festivals. HoneyGrass showcased at the 2007 International Bluegrass Music Association’s “World of Bluegrass” conference in Nashville, and won the "Most Promising Band" of the year award at the 2007 Central Canadian Bluegrass Awards (CCBA). They have received nine CCBA nominations in subsequent years. Their debut CD "She's Running Wild" was released in June 2008 and received a very favourable review in the December 2008 issue of Bluegrass Unlimited. For the past three years in a row, HoneyGrass has also contributed original songs to the award winning "North to Ontario" compilation CDs, which receive extensive international airplay. They have been playing at major festivals and are currently looking to share their excitement for their music in new areas. HoneyGrass has recently recorded a series of new videos called “The Burk’s Falls Sessions” which can be accessed on their website at: www.honeygrass.com
They have the flexibility to play as a trio, a four piece, or a five piece, and often use electric guitar where appropriate for a more country/rock sound.
