Vancouver born, Texas raised, Florida reformed, Brooklyn saved, Miss Honey Larochelle has been making audiences around the world jump out of their seats. Her warm yet edgy mash-up of classic soul, hip-hop, electro-pop and reggae is appealing to audiences, young and old.

After years of singing lead for The Brand New Heavies, and performing with artists including Joss Stone, Macy Gray and Roberta Flack, Honey is releasing her first solo album. "The Yes Feeling" reflects a more mature, more juicy exposé, showcasing a crisp, soaring soprano and capturing her dynamic songwriting and production skills.

"The Yes Feeling" is about transition, growth, and the chapters of love. It’s about taking flight from one chapter to the next. Whether it’s your mother, your money or your lover, we all change, and grow, and turn the page sometimes. So I tell that story using everything from soulful-pop to funk to reggae,” says Honey.?

Beyond performing, Honey’s passion for the architecture of music has led to her being hired to write songs, arrange vocals, and vocal produce for several artists, like Jennifer Hudson, who says “I’ve never seen anything like her. She just asked me a few questions about myself and my life, and next thing you know she had a verse and hook written.” ??Without a doubt, Honey is a triple-threat: an amazing singer, songwriter, and musician. With her chameleon-like talents, glowing persona, and passion for the stage, Honey Larochelle is a name to remember and a classic to hold on to. Buzz.

Cool People

Written By: Honey Larochelle, Veit Renn

Oh young brother please
Won’t you take over this M.I.C
Share with we your inner poetry
Life stories of who you used to and proved to be
It seems like you’ve got aspirations
Seem like a fella with some edumacation
Someone I could chill with with no complications
You’ve got patience and interest in someone like me

Cause you’re cool people
You fit right in with everybody we know
You’re cool people
You treat everyone like they’re equal
Enjoy the finer things in life
Appreciate those that try
And that’s cool, that’s real, Cool People

Oh Young sista
I’m feeling how you’re dealing with your mista
It may seem to others like he dissed ya
But you made light and said
“Okay, everybody has an off day”
And I respect that
It takes a real woman to understand her man
Instead of getting all emotional
You took it all in stride and just let it go.

I choose to chill with you
‘cause you’re laid back, easy, and it’s always alright
You do you, and I’ll do me
No need to watch what we say if it’s us just sometimes or everyday it’s always, alright.

Single Mother

Written By: Honey Larochelle, Veit Renn

As a child
Never thought in my life I would find
As we grow, things just don’t turn out right
I have found a surprise coming round each corner
As a child
Never knew you had any responsibilities
You had way too many, still made time for me
Took for granted that you loved me I never knew
How lucky I was to have a mom like you
And I didn’t know you worked so hard
Some kids never know love and would have appreciated you
I’m sorry for acting up
Sorry I was bad
You’ve done such a wonderful job
Without my Dad

As a child
Never knew why he wasn’t around
As I search for true love none I’ve found
I know you must have been lonely without him
But you worked, and what I needed you would provide
What you’ve done without that man by your side
You’ve created someone who admires her mom

Everyday I’m alive I become more like you
And I understand now that you worked hard
Some kids never know love and would have appreciated you
I’m sorry for acting up
Sorry I was bad
You’ve done such a wonderful job

Can’t nobody repay you all the hours the diapers and the cigarettes
Can’t nobody repay you all the days the weeks and the spent up checks
Can’t nobody repay you all the things he took from you
But can’t nobody take me from you
Said can’t nobody take me from you
Can’t nobody repay you all the doctors, the pain the weeklong fights
Can’t nobody repay you all the love hurt sleepless nights
Can’t nobody repay you all the things he took from you
But can’t nobody take me from you…
Cause I’m your baby, Mama
I’m your baby, Mama.
