Bio
The history of the Honk is colorful, but honestly boys, we just got this train moving. Honkatonk is the brain-child of OD and the Hunt Brothers. OD has used the Hunt garage, North County’s open mic scene, Witches Tit gigs, and the sidewalk in front of Lonestar BBQ (Oceanside, CA) to test drive his songwriting chops. All of those songs, are being refined for a summer 2009 self produced album, and brought into our ever expanding set list.
We preform original music with instruments arranged to custom fit the venue. We love bringing it down and dirty with just acoustics for intimate settings because we thrive as a non amplified hobo blues band. O'D likes to practice this way for vocal practice to be able to sing over the band without a PA system. When we decide to shed our unplugged selves and go full blown electric, it is a differernt sound but our fans love it. Full on southern rock electric guitar and Harmonica slinging for large halls or the outdoors.
