"Fan Review"

Honor Among Thieves describe their own music this way.

"No wussy, frat boy rock here, No "adult contemporary", no rap/rock crossover, no whiney emo, no cryptic messages, no political agendas........just pure 100% uninhibited Rock n' Roll!"

While they have no political agenda ~lol~ they do have a rock and roll agenda and that's GREAT !! I like a band that has a mission statement and then sticks to it especially when it is so succinct.

What is also cool is that a band with such a hard rock manifesto would have a female lead singer. She would have to shred to live up to such a reputation and lead singer Cherokee does that and more. What can I say? These songs totally shred. If you were wondering where your next loud thumping driving musical fix was coming from this is it.

I guess this clears up that Pirate vrs Ninja Controversy once and for all.

"Show review"

Finally we got the to band I came to see - Honor Among Thieves. No doubt when I saw that the Sex Slaves were on the Bill I was doubly happy but it started with Honor Among Thieves. I would say they are one of the newer bands in town. At least I am guessing that is the case as they are not included in the NYCRR set. But they have, with Cherokee, one of the hottest singers in the city! And between her voice and the guitarist, Eric, supported by Sebastian on Bass and Dave on Drums - They do have something going on. Musically they are a guitar based band, reminding me of outfits such as Sabbath or the Cult. The Bass and drums providing a solid foundation to Eric's guitar. Cherokee's vocals, which have a hint of Janis Joplin or maybe Blondie -that is an interesting combination! Regardless, she does have a voice and it does this band behind her good. Again I am at a disadvantage as this is the second time I had seen them and did not find their website, www.thievesrocks.com , with some tunes until now - www.wildwest2004.com

"Edge of A razor" our first full length CD, has made such an impact on the listening public that it's been nominated in New York City's "The Village Voice" for 2005's album of the year. You can hear some stuff at our website, www.thievesrocks.com or at www.myspace.com/honoramongthieves
