It foreshadows the path that one of Canadas newest hip hop duo are taking heading straight to the top. Hood and Jamz are poised to take the Canadian hip hop scene by storm.

David Joseph Hogan aka Hood (24) and Jamoyee Salmon aka Jamz (25) both grew up on the south side of Jane Street in Toronto, Canada. Hood and Jamz attribute their childhoods growing up in South Jane as well as the strength of their mothers for their passion for music. Music was both Hood and Jamz escape and kept them out of real trouble growing up.  

When you listen to their music you instantly know they are real; from Hoods insane flow and verses to Jamz sick hooks you know their music is from the soul. Today Hood n Jamz are being noticed on the Canadian Hip Hop scene. Their official mixtape is dropping April 4th 2014 and when you listen to the tracks you are hit by their versatility and creativity. Their tracks are unique, using different styles to evoke various emotions within the listener. They move you from mellow real life struggles to party anthems and speak to a wide range of topics. If a critic only scratches the surface of this mixtape, they may believe its only about what hip hop gets a bad rep for materialism and sex. But dig deeper into the mixtape, and songs like Work Hard delivers real lyrics about the everyday struggle. There is more to Hood and Jamz then the money and the game; their family, their friends, their individual struggles, it all bleeds into their music, and fuels their drive to make it big.

Which song in their current mixtape are they most proud of?  Immediately they say it is If You Sexy featuring Harvey Stripes. To Hood and Jamz, this marks the first time that they were able  to work with one of the few Canadian rappers currently making huge noise in Canada and south of the boarder. One of their most memorable performances was at a concert at Torontos iconic Opera House. In June 2012, Hood & Jamz opened for Kid Inc., not only was he performing at The Opera House, but the crowd was the largest they had performed for at that time. The vibe was insane and Hood and Jamz played off the energy of the crowd, giving one of their most prolific performances.

Hood and Jamz credit many people in their life for getting them where they are so far such as Trae for investing in their current project and staying true to their vision, P Mck and P Mck Studios, he has been  the mastermind behind their recent career moves, helping to solidifying their trajectory to becoming a dominant force in Canadas hip hop scene. P Mck also recorded, mixed and engineered their entire mixtape. Havey Stripes for lending his talent to their current project and of course Hood and Jamz teams N.M.M and W.G.N.M.G

What does the future hold for Hood and Jamz? They will be releasing their mixtape soon, and then begin touring. Ultimately, the sky is the limit. Determined to continue moving on up, they know, they can help put Canadas hip hop scene on the map; rising to the levels of Drake and Kardinal - forcing the rap gods to take notice of their music.
