Bio

A wide range of contemporary instrumental music with a few vocals standards and originals too. The band has many influences including but not limited to; the Jeff Lorber Fusion, Carlos Antonio Jobim, Chuck Mangione, Stevie Wonder, Vince Gauraldi, Herb Alpert, and Jay Beckenstein in addition to our own decades of experience performing in lots of musical settings.

What makes us different from the traditional "jazz quartet" is the way in which the music is presented. We engage the audience to help identify music they know but don't often hear and we keep the music flowing so as not to lose the momentum of the set. Tracey D. Hooker is an entertaining "front man" for our group and audiences love his onstage manner not to mention his flugelhorn and trumpet.

Hook Me Up started life as the Jim Cochran Trio with Osama on bass and Aaron playing drums. After Jim met Tracey Hooker at a big band rehearsal Tracey asked Jim to sit in on keys for a guitar player who couldn't make a mid-week jazz gig of Tracey D. Hooker and Studio Hook Me Up. Jim suggested to Tracey that next time Studio Hook Me Up performed Jim would bring along Osama and Aaron. The first time that happened the sound of Hook Me Up was born and continues to mature and diversify to this day.
