Hope Arthur has studied classical piano since she was nine years old, and started writing music 10 years later when she spent one year in Thailand for a youth exchange. After she got back she began her music degree at IPFW, delving more intensely into the art of classical piano and exploring other subjects such as composition and orchestration. Her music blends classical pianism with acoustic indie/ folk. Influences include Bjork, Regina Spektor, Kate Nash, Joanna Newsom, Johannes Brahms, Amy Beach, Maurice Ravel, and Claude Debussy.
