Bio
Horizons are an Italian Pop-Rock band from Bologna in the North of Italy. They have been playing their music throughout Italy since 2001 trying to combine different musical styles. The common roots of the bands music are found in the classic rock of the 70s and 80s, but their music also pays close attention to the new evolutions of rock and pop, both international and Italian.
Over the years, Horizons have performed on several TV and radio shows, but have always found the real purpose of their songs in live performances. The group has been successful in many contests and competitions, where the bands general attitude and preference for live performances has been widely rewarded.
They have recorded many demos but only recently, in 2007, the members of the band decided to take a step forward by starting to record their first album. The entire album was recorded at DoctorStudios in Bologna while the final sound engineering process was accomplished by Roberto Priori at PriStudios. In October 2007, after a lot of hard work and extensive recording, their debut album, Cerchi
, was released.
The album is characterized by sophisticated arrangements with special attention paid to vocals. Heavy guitar riffs often lead in to more calm and profound ballads, giving a complete and mature sound to the album.
After the release of the album, several Indie Record labels expressed interest in the band. At the beginning of 2008, Horizons signed with La Fuente Records of Max Boccalari and Daniela Monza. The album was soon re-published and officially released, both on CD and iTunes, on May 16, 2008 with the bands live performance at Spazio Aurora in Milan. This event was the kick-off to a wide number of showcases and gigs that will be performed around Italy. In order to reinforce and emphasize the bands sound so as to be more effective in live performances, the core members of the band, Tommaso, Massimo, Luca and Marcello, have recently joined forces with Tommaso Avellini on bass guitar and Leonardo Serasini on guitar. As they continue to create and improve their music and experience, Horizons are a band worth listening to and looking for in the future.
