"Show-N-Tell: Hot LZ"

Hot LZ is a Chicago-based blues/rock band. The band consists of 5 musicians Joey Davenport, Dean Haage, Bob Hyatt, Bill Werkheiser, and Shelby Martin. They recently came out with a new 4 track EP called Itchy Trigger Finger. Listening to the EP I got a Jack White, Black Keys, and a little Jimi Hendrix vibe. Most importantly I got that classic rock and roll feel. I could see this band working with Dan Auerbach and putting together an amazing master piece. It’s a good feeling knowing that talented bands like Hot LZ are from my area and I look forward to seeing them live soon. Check out Itchy Trigger Finger below and keep rockin’ out!

Oh by the way I’m totally a fan of all the tracks but Train Rolls On is currently my favorite track….Wait I’m leaning towards Toll On Your Soul now. Could we combine all tracks in to 1 track so I don’t have to decide on a favorite?

Bio

Hot LZ is an original Southern Rock band based in Chicago.  This quintet infuses gritty vocals, slash-weaving electric guitars grounded in an acoustic backdrop, with a romp and stomp rhythm section.  HOT LZ intertwines lyrical magic connecting with anyone who can relate to love, loss and raising hell.

Hot LZ's lead vocalist is native Nashvillian and multi-instrumentalist Billy Joe Davenport. With his foot on the gas pedal, Dean Haage provides rhythm guitar and backing vocals. Bob Hyatt (Dr. Bobby Hyatt), also of Chicago-based Heeby Jeebies, brings the head rockin, face-grimacing, lead guitar and vocals. The rhythm section features Shelby Martin thundering on bass and backing vocals, along with Bill Werkheiser keeping it in the pocket with his ratta-tat-tat drum style.

If the Black Crowes, Jack White and Muddy Waters were to hit the town, Hot LZ would serve as their soundtrack.  Influences include Black Crowes, Jack White, Black Keys, Beastie Boys, Robert Johnson, Led Zeppelin, etc.
