Hot August Night

Hot August Night

Far reaching rock melodies and rhythms fronted by a haunting Neil Diamond meets Jim Morrison vocal. Songs of the highs and lows of working musicians in Los Angeles, intertwined with love, fear, and loathing in a world over run by rock bands and the fight for success.

10 years picking the best of the best musicians and many more years of living the music brings this band to the forefront . 5 players connecting on stage musically, permeate raw emotion to the audience. Dozens of interpretations of their can be seen and heard as gentle chaos builds into brutal fury, culminating in a sweaty, sonic public climax.

Dean and Chris first met in Japan, while working on an allstar tribute show for the armed forces. After returning to the states, Chris joined Dean's Neil Diamond tribute band. Ty Dennis, drummer for Robbie Krieger and Ray Manzarek (The Doors), soon joined the tribute band in between tours. Barry Wehrli was running a music publishing company and teaching music when he answered the ad for a keyboard player for the tribute show. Shane Jordan got the offer to play bass guitar while headlining in a 9-piece dance band. After several months of playing casinos, clubs, and large concerts as a Neil Diamond triubute show, the band decided to record songs written by Dean. A day of arranging and rehearsal followed as the band prepared for its first recording sessions, and their debut 9-song CD, "Running out of Stones". More songs were written as each session and gig produced more material to record.

Each player is unique and from a totally different world of experience and musical influence, such as, techno, reggae, alternative, and hard rock. Artists' influences are the Rolling Stones, The Doors, Neil Diamond, David Bowie, The Police, and The Who, and a plethora of angry alternative bands.
