Bio
The male / female vocal interplay, mingling within warm, Western harmonies is akin to early Whiskeytown or maybe even the New Pornographers, since Danielle Ahart’s vocals inspire memories of Neko Case’s best moments. It’s back porch songcraft at its finest. Now a five piece, the Hotdamns bring their sound to audiences all over the South, Midwest, and East Coast.
"It carves away at us like rivers until there ain't nothing left. And that which doesn't make us stronger just kills us in the end."
...And Justice For Y'all busts its proverbial buns to marry the working man and the thinking man, your drinking buddy and your mama, creating seven songs worthy of the annual family car pool to great grandma's but catchy enough for the saloon after the whole mess.
Pull up your favorite rocking chair, grab an iced tea and enjoy the shade. This record should provide a great soundtrack to your afternoon. And we won't tell if you spiked the tea.
..And Justice For Y'all features familiar faces Danielle Ahart on various and sundry keyed instruments and vocals, David Hughes on rhythm guitars and vocals, and Jay Lindsey on bass and banjo. New this time around are Kelsey Miller on lead guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, and Jeff Lay on drum kit. These new additions have proven to add approximately 69 ounces of "Hell yeah!" to each track. Also stopping by for a spell was Craig Harmon on Hammond B3 and pedal steel, and Miguel Urbiztando on percussion.
