Bio

Hotdish's story is similar to that of the dish itself. There's a lot of crazy stuff in it, but it tastes real good.

The origin of the band begins in Minneapolis circa 2002, when Scott Bauer and Chris Mitchell began to start jamming together and writing songs. The guitar players shared similar musical influences and playing styles, focusing on musicianship and songwriting. They subsequently formed The Ringers along with Chris's brother Matt on bass and long time friend Rick Nordquist on drums. They soon became one of the premier jam-bands in the Midwest, playing weekly gigs at top venues in Minneapolis including the Fine Line, Five Corners Saloon, and the 400 bar amongst others. Soon thereafter, they independently recorded their first EP, "Skimming The Cream", selling over a thousand copies at shows alone.

In 2005 the Ringers disbanded after Bauer moved to Boston to complete his music business degree at Berklee College of Music, and Chris Mitchell moved to New York city to teach. In 2007 Bauer and Mitchell returned to Minneapolis, joining up with Matt who had since cut his teeth with local Minneapolis favorites The Exchange and Consolatioin Champ. They also added drummer extraordiaire Ryan Cihlar (Puzzle, The Willie Waldaman project) to solidify their funky foundation.

After only a few shows, Hotdish has managed to play with former Prince and the Revolution keys player Matt Fink and garner the attention of some of the areas top producers. The band is scheduling to record their first full-length album in the summer.
