The bar was four deep and the music was loud in true southern style provided by the Tangipohoa based band " Hot Down South". A few minutes passed by while Seagal coordinated with local Hammond-ite Joey Drago. Then the music started. Hot Down South was formed in 1998. Concentrating on mostly originals which is best described as a mixture of New Orleans funk and blues with high energy guitar, drums, and vocal harmonies. We are the winners of the First Annual Blues and BBQ Festival in Hammond Louisiana, we have wowed our audiences everytime we take the stage. We were also picked as the band to back Steven Seagal at Rubies Road House and At the Orpheus Ball in New Orleans. We have also appeared at the House of Blues in New Orleans with Jean Knight and Al "Carnival" Johnson.We also opened up for Lean Russell at the Texas Club in Baton Rouge, La. We have appeared on New Orleans After Midnight on several occasions. I've also played with Rockin Dopsie at La. Grill. If your ready for a smokin high energy blues/rock band . you've have just found one.
