"Boise Local Music Scene"

"Boise’s Hotel Chelsea plays cynical pop punk that satisfies both the most bright-eyed kid and the most bitter 30-something adult. They are not afraid to laugh at their own misfortunes, not afraid to laugh at anyone else’s misfortunes and definitely not afraid to laugh at Idaho Lottery commercials. Hotel Chelsea’s sugary and gravelly vocal melodies are joined by a healthy disdain for work, relationships and everyday life. Though most of their riffs are insidiously simple and catchy, sometimes they lace their three chord assault with the unexpectedly complex. It’s something akin to being bitter, drinking a whole Rainier 24 pack and kicking over your mother-in-law’s coffee table– and it’s never felt so triumphant. Hotel Chelsea is poppy, pleasant and so punk rock that you’ll be searching all over your house for your neglected denim vest and long lost green Chucks." - Dustin Verburg, SSG Music (Aug 01, 2011)

"Boise Music"

"Members of local pop-punk band Hotel Chelsea are doing it all by their disease-ridden selves. The band is reportedly nearly done recording its debut album. Frontman Ryan Sampson, formerly of The Percolators, told Boise Weekly that the band is down to the finishing touches on the collection, which it plans on calling El Pee. (You know, because it's like L.P.? But in Spanish it means "the urine"?) The band will leave for a spring tour after a kick-off show supporting So-Cal smut-rockers Guttermouth at The Red Room on March 6." - Josh Gross, Boise Weekly (Mar 07, 2012)

Bio

Starting as an idea in the corner of a dark bar in 2010, Hotel Chelsea started from the ashes of Boise bands A New Agenda, Ohadi, and The PirkQlaters. Focusing on the earlier forms of Pop Punk, they have created a sound reminiscent of the earlier days of Pop Punk, without the breakdowns, frills, and nonsense of the so-called "Pop Punk" bands of today. Their primary focus is fun, catchy, four on the floor rhythms, catchy hooks, and singalong choruses written about girls, jerks, and the occasional video game reference. They released their first full length, "El Pee", in the spring of 2012. They have shared the stage with such acts as: Teenage Bottlerocket, Mixtapes, Aficionado, Bad Manners, Guttermouth, Bold Type, and The Toasters. They are preparing for a heavy touring season, as well as the release of their second full length, in 2013. Come check out Hotel Chelsea, and see why they are so "Pop Punk and proud"!
