San Francisco’s Hot Flash Heat Wave has a knack for sandy California beach jams.
The quartet might be based in the foggy city, but their newest single, ‘Jacuzzi’, is straight up sunny day rock. The single is melodic, energetic, and an easy fit for the impending Indian Summer. It might just be the sunburnt surf soundtrack for the beach day you wish you were having.
The group has a couple live shows planned. The first is on September 20 at UC Berkeley, and the second is at the Bay Area Record Fair later this month.

San Francisco’s Hot Flash Heat Wave, the latest surf-inspired dance pop band to capture our attention, are embarking on a few off-the-beaten-path Northern California dates (and how appropriate that I write to you about this band today—it is 8pm and 80 degrees out as I type this).

If you’re passing through the Sacramento area, you can find them at Sudwerk Brewery for ORMF Festival in Davis this Saturday, or if you’re willing to wait a little longer, SFSU’s The Depot next Thursday.
