HOT LAUNDRY has a little something for anyone interested in shaking their bones. Craig Handzlik, Lincoln Ballard, Jason Gray and Rick Isotalo have the ability to take fans on a vivid improvisational odyssey through textural and dynamic jams.

Founded in Seattle in 2005, HOT LAUNDRY plays catchy, radio friendly original tunes. No song is ever played the same way twice.

Craig Handzlik (Guitar/Vocals): HOT LAUNDRY’S primary songwriter and a former Seattle radio host who was brought up on a diet of Bob Marley, Sublime, The Grateful Dead and B.B. King. Handzlik came to Seattle by way of Los Angeles.

Lincoln Ballard (Guitar/Vocals): The brains behind the band. Lincoln Ballard is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Washington School of Music. Ballard hails from Ohio.

Jason Gray (Bass/Vocals): A native of Central California, Gray is a Nuclear Engineer in the U.S. Navy by day and a tooth-rattling bass player for HOT LAUNDRY by night.

Richard Isotalo (Percussion): Isotalo has lightning-fast hands and a knack for keeping HOT LAUNDRY’s rhythmic stew simmering.

HOT LAUNDRY has played before audiences at Seafair, The NW Folklife Festival, The Olympia Harbor Days Festival, The West Seattle Nature Conservatory and has packed just about every club on the Seattle circuit.

Lyrics

Wrong

Written By: Craig Handzlik

Here on my wall
I hang all my dream
Promises fade
Whatever that means

We don’t believe what kids believe anymore

Learn it in books
Learn it out on the road
Make yourself happy
Don’t ever do what your told

We end up living behind someone else’s glass wall

But everything’s gonna be
Gonna be alright
But everything’s gonna be
Gonna be alright

You better give it
You better take it
You better hide it
Cause I will break it

Cause we’re wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong again

You gotta wait for your turn to go
You gotta wait for the ship to slow
You gotta wait for the light to change
Nothing is happening

I’m sorry that I had to go
I’m sorry that I stayed too long
I’m sorry that I let you down
Seems like I’m always wrong and…

And everything’s gonna be
Gonna be alright
And everything’s gonna be
Gonna be alright

You better give it
You better take it
You better hide it
Cause I will break it

Cause we’re wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong again (x4)

Desert Sunrise

Written By: Craig Handzlik

Waited with bated breath
For the sun to rise
Greeted by smiling friends
To my surprise

No mention of sleep only
Fumes of gasoline
The desert looks harmless at least
This morning is seems

These are the good times
That we will remember
Sun climbs high in the sky
While we ride

There isn’t a soul around
To be found for miles
The desert is full of lunatics
The desert is full of smiles

Waited for the sun to rise, wide-open eyes

Waited to see if they would let me
Live my dreams
Dreams seem so clean when they
Dance into the night

Come with me when I sleep
The dark highway gleams
The desert is full of lunatics
The desert is full of smiles
Pre Chorus:

How lucky we would be
If things never change
Staring off in the distance
Glimmering sand

Fortunate brothers
Burning across the range
Go back to the city
Go back to where you came

Waited for the sun to rise, wide-open eyes
