What separates the Hot Shots from other musical groups is that they are actually a group— four different personalities that mesh seamlessly once the music is turned on. Also, contrary to some other hip-hop acts, the Hot Shots stray away from the gun carrying, drug selling, fantasy lifestyle that is occasionally portrayed on record. Instead, the group focuses on events they’ve experienced personally, have seen or been affected by. This brings genuineness to every word, only reflecting more of the passion the boys have for music.
Ultimately, the Hot Shots simply love to make music. There is a famous quote by French poet Jean Cocteau that says, “Good music stirs by its mysterious resemblance to the objects and feelings which motivated it.” Music is the only art that can immediately restore the same feelings/emotions evoked the first time the song was heard. In time, the Hot Shots plan to leave an indelible mark on music as a whole. In order to do this, though, it takes dedication, hard work, and most importantly great music. Check. Check. and Check.
