Bio

Hot Tin Roof

Sweden is probably not the first country that comes to mind when you hear the words – soul music.Nevertheless, here comes solid proof that Sweden is more than ABBA, Volvo cars and…cold weather. This seven-piece band from the very south of Sweden was founded out of sheer love of soul and R&B music and out of a collective desire to communicate that passion through their interpretation of the genre. Some twenty years ago, Olof and Håkan were members of one of the first Swedish funk bands. In the late month of 2000, guitarist Jacke Windahl, tired from spending way too much time in numerous cover bands, made the decision to concentrate on developing his own musical ideas.Later, their decisions were to start a group of their own. By finding the right lead vocalist and the right combination of a Soul/R&B band with a fascinating horn section, the band was complete. These constellations of passionate and skilled musicians and vocalist have proved to be a perfect match. The joy of being a band of soul-mates have resulted in an impressive collection of groove-filled material, of which you now for the first time have the chance to enjoy a select portion.Hot Tin Roof expresses their enormous feelings in different relationships within the lyrics of the songs. “Cold out of Fire” speaks of a trusted friend who lets their mate down by turning to the mate’s enemies. “Sunday Night” tells the story of a broken-hearted person who refuses to accept the fact that its over in the relationship. The album has several other songs that’s touching and emotional to the heart. Hot Tin Roof’s forthcoming album entitled “Swedish Soul” is scheduled for release late 2004.
