With experience in various musical genres, Howit found himself immersed in Hip Hop culture through his involvement in graffiti art. He has continued to be an active particpant of the four elements (rapping, djing, breakdancing, and graffiti) since his introduction in 1994. Without the money to hire producers to create his intrumentals, scene elders such as Sixtoo, Buck 65, and Jorun, suggested he learn to produce his own beats to enhance the individual estetic of his sound. It wasn't till 2000 that he decided to take his music more serious under the title Cix-AM as a political graffiti rapper.
While honing his skill under this title, he found himself craving more diversity in his music, adopting the more appropriate title Howit Iz to start off the year of 2006. He has continued to grace the stage with the Maritimes finest performers and has even been nominated for a MIANS award as best Hip Hop release of 2006. Although He's been in the scene for years, He's only just begun, and will continue to tell you Howit Iz.
