Huddle

BandPop

Angular dream pop influenced by rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield.

Biography

Toronto indie ensemble, HUDDLE released their full-length debut, ALL THESE FIRES, in August 2011 to widespread critical acclaim and a solid spot on iTunes Canada’s chart (#11 alternative). HUDDLE, comprised of Mark Satterthwaite (vocals/guitar), Clay Jones (guitar), Dave Lucas (bass), Teddy Wilson (drums) and Eric Schwindt (keys) came from relative obscurity to getting regular plays on CBC Radio (DNTO/Grant Lawrence’s podcast), being featured in Exclaim Magazine, blogTO and alancross.com and sharing the stage with bands like Wye Oak, Male Bonding, Cuff The Duke, Hollerado and Elliot Brood. The animated video for their first single, Islands, went viral and was featured on Muchmusic’s ‘The Wedge’ and garnered ‘Pick of The Week’ honours on MTV NEWS.

HUDDLE will be playing shows in and around Ontario in the coming months, with an appearance at Canadian Music Week and other festival announcements coming soon.

Lyrics

Islands

Written By: Mark Satterthwaite / HUDDLE

It’s an icon,
Trees too strained for Theo.
Stand at windowsills,
Take it in but put it right back out.

Pass the masthead.
Rub two sticks to show you,
All is quiet now.
I think Jackie will hate Dan.

Oh please, it should be easy now.
But it’s never been my life.
It’s never been my life.
