Hudson Blues Band

BandBlues

The Hudson Blues Band plays Chicago style blues with a passion that comes from loving the music and having a feeling for the blues. We are an energetic band that strives to fill the dance floor with originals and classic blues songs where ever we play.

Biography

The Hudson Blues Band has been working around Seattle since 1994 and since then, we've built the band into one of the hardest working and best known blues bands in the Seattle area. We have been nominated for "Best Blues Band" by the Washington Blues Society in 2007 and the Seattle Weekly in 2005, We have also been nominated for "Best Traditional Act" by the WBS. We've backed blues legends Hubert Sumlin, Pinetop Perkins and Jody Williams during their stops here in Seattle. We have also appeared at Bumbershoot twice (2000 and 2004). Our members have been nominated multiple times for their respective instruments by the WBS (Washington Blues Society).

Set List

We play all types of blues, straight ahead shuffles, swing, rhumbas, slow. Our main focus is playing a song that gets folks dancing.
A typical set includes "300 lbs of Joy", "Too Late" obscure gems like "What Kinda Gal is That" or more obvious tunes like "Seet Home Chicago". Whatever blues tune it takes to get blues lovers dancing, we'll do it!
