Bio

Hugo formed 3 years ago and is still going strong! The Band recorded their first E.P & sent it to Radio 1 DJ Rob Da Bank who was holding his annual ‘Bestival’ battle of the bands Competition. Hugo made it through to the live final where they then won the competition, which earned them a slot on the Mainstage!

“I heartily recommend this rambunctious rock’n’roll with soul!”
- Rob da Bank, BBC Radio 1FM

Since this achievement the band has grown from strength to strength, they have played countless gigs around the UK including Bestival and Isle of Wight Festival 3 years in a row and this year played at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and have gigs lined up in France and Germany.

Hugo has gained airplay on Huw Stephens Radio 1 Introducing show (twice), BBC Introducing shows in Bristol (Sophie Oliver), Wales (Bethan Elfyn), Southern Counties (including their weekly unsigned review show) and on other local stations around the South. Hugo Frusslinky has also been featured in the Bestival Bugle, local press and NME with NME’s Radar Ed Alex Miller describing them as: -

“The best band from the Isle of Wight since the only other band really, The Bees. It’s like The White Stripes manning a jam stall at a fête!”
-NME Radar Ed Alex Miller

Hugo has also been featured on many internet blogs and can be found on Elbows Music Blog Aggregator. Even a few fans running NASA’s blogging site ‘Vertical Limit’ have mentioned us! Recently we have had press packs requested by several Publishing and Artist Management companies.

We recently entered a UK National Music Competition, ‘Rock Music Crown’, which was shortlisted by judges Skin (Skunk Anansie) & Jon Morter (UK Christmas No 1 RATM Campaign). The winner was decided through public vote and Hugo Frusslinky got 2nd place!

We would love to know what you think of our music, please do get in touch and thanks so much for your time.
