"Bands to watch in 2007"

"The Human Soundtrack are a newer band that are the perfect classification of 'diamond in the rough.' Their self-titled EP may not be slickly packaged, or of pristine sound quality, but the songs are strong. Echoing a sound that is reminiscent of such bands as Radiohead and Pilate, lead singer Steve Haley has a voice that is as unique as anyone I've ever heard, and the talented supporting cast of music that is atmospheric, almost dream-like at times." - Kevin Kelly- The Newfoundland Herald

"The Human Soundtrack"

"If you put your ear to the ground in downtown
St. John's these days the sound you're likely to hear is
that of The Human Soundtrack -- the latest in a string
of great musical acts enlivening St. John's.

Simply put,
with their alt-folk-rock stylings,
subtle emotional performance, thoughtful and
sometimes enigmatic lyrics, The Human Soundtrack
alongside bands like Hey Rosetta!
are poised to forge the new St. John's sound." - Rj Product- http://www.rjproduct.ca/2006/04/human-soundtrack.php

Bio

The Human Soundtrack’s musical influences are harvested from vinyl, cassettes, and discs alike, dipping into whatever comprises its members' audial intake. This pastiche of blues, folk, pop, alternative, punk and the touchstone rock form unique, undeniably catchy tunes and dense, defined soundscapes. After warming up and tightening a sound in various confining rented rooms around the city of St. John’s, The Human Soundtrack began to play their music in front of real, live people in the winter of 2006. The following autumn they performed at the Music NL showcase in Stephenville and have since shared the stage with bands such as Trailer Camp, Hey Rosetta! and Halifax's Down With the Butterfly. Since their first gig, the band has been playing rigorously for 365 days or so promoting their 7 song EP and working on their new album - "Organs for Sale" set for release on February 29th.
