Bio

When you think about New York Hip Hop, unfortunately your mind is probably
overrun with thoughts of what used to be. Even worse you would be hard
pressed to run off a list of new names in even the smallest amount that
have mad a major impact for the musical mecca in the last decade. With
an unappeasable appetite for success, the Harlem-bred Lyricist, aptly
named Hungry HD, is seemingly intent on changing our minds.

Life has never come easy for the calmly confident, slick-tongued MC,
but Hungry has never used it as an excuse not to succeed. Choosing to be
the first college graduate in his family, he would complete his
bachelors degree at Johnson & Wales University and upon
graduating decided to pursue his dream with a vengeance. In a matter of
three weeks Hungry recalls, I had recorded a 14 track mixtape and had
it circulating the streets. I was really starting to create a little
buzz for myself. But tragedy would strike, bringing his dreams of rap
stardom to an abrupt halt. Man I hadnt been home four months yet says
Hungry, The timing just couldnt have been worse. Hungry had started
to experience severe muscle atrophies in shoulders, legs and eventually
his whole body that caused him to lose movement in his arms and
eventually the ability to walk. He would spend the next 3 years in and
out of hospitals receiving treatment and therapy. Strength, Loyalty,
Focus would come to mean more than just words inked in Japanese letters
on the young MCs neck. Instead of breaking his spirits, those 3 lost
years only fueled his hunger for success.

Last year Hungry HD released his debut project, No Thanx 2 You" hosted
by DJ Suss One, which received over 20k downloads web-wide to date.
The Project gained him a fair amount of regional notoriety garnering him
features on Thisis50.com as well as Rhymes & Dimes and Hip Hop
Weekly Magazines. Looking to build on that success, HD is back with a
all new full-length project and what sounds to be undoubtedly his best
work yet. Released on October 29th, Modestys End claims features
from Loaded Lux (Battle Rap King), Haddy Racks, TB Whobetta, Ohene
Cornelius & More. The video for the buzz single "Maple
Fudge (Nobody Smiling)" has been well received on Youtube is a
sure-fire stand out on the project. Creatively crafted, it plays just
as raw as the name sounds paying serious homage to that authentic
90s NYC hip-hop we all love and miss without being so
nostalgic that it sounds outdated. Your presence is humbly requested as
we embark on a journey to bring fresh perspective to hip-hop
music.
