Lyrics

What I Wouldn't Give

Written By: Hunter Payne

Mean dreams, bad scenes, what are they here for
Pounding my head with no warning, pounding my head
What lover could give you more than me

You ache, you shake, that’s what I’m here for
Kissing your eyes from above you, kissing your eyes
No other will love you more than me

Deep in the morning when we’d awake
I’d pull your body into mine
What I wouldn’t give to have just one more day
Your love making me cry

Your note, your joke crumpled up on the floor
Selling our love like it’s nothing, selling our love
Go on, go on and let me bleed

Deep in the morning when we’d awake
I’d pull your body into mine
What I wouldn’t give to have just one more day
Your love making me cry
Your love making me cry

How many more do you know
Who can take you where we go
How many more do you know
How many more do you know
How many more do you know now

What lover could give you more than me

Deep in the morning when we’d awake
I’d pull your body into mine
What I wouldn’t give to have just one more day
Your love making me cry

My Yesterday

Written By: Hunter Payne

Your voice from down the hall
Lost in the morning fog
I don’t hear it anymore
I’m miles away, miles away

Cold hearts out of grace
The sun rising in the rain
All start to look the same
From miles away, miles away

It’s sure been great to know you
I tried every way to show you
But I won’t wait any longer
My yesterday, my yesterday

Prayed you would open and
Let out your heart again
We touched something holy then
You turned away, you turned away

It’s sure been great to know you
I tried every way to show you
But I won’t wait any longer
My yesterday, my yesterday

You know I hate to give up
Watch while my world splits up
But this time I’m really gone
My yesterday, my yesterday

Wait, wasn’t there magic in her eyes
Wait, was that some promise in disguise
Wait, was she the one I’ll never find

It all starts to look the same
From miles away, miles away

Oh, Carrie Jo

Written By: Hunter Payne

Dogs start screaming when you’re getting off
All that howling, all for naught
All the neighbors, one and all
Called to tell me they’re concerned

Same old setup, same old shame
Same old same old, same old same
All I can tell you is what they saw
While they watched your bodies burn

Oh, Carrie Jo, what do you wanna
What do you wanna know
Carrie Jo, what do you wanna

Bed’s still soaking where you two were laid
Smells like the desert after a rain
And after the sheriffs all tried in vain
I found Romeo in the ferns

He ain’t no sugar, he ain’t no Sting
He ain’t your papa, not with that thing
All I can tell you is what I saw
While he fumbled through your purse

Oh, Carrie Jo, what do you wanna
What do you wanna know
Carrie Jo, what do you wanna

Think it’s time I was moving on
And let you jingle with your john
You’re still a precious child of God
One day you’ll wonder what that’s worth
One day you’ll wonder what that’s worth

Carrie Jo, what do you wanna
What do you wanna know
Carrie Jo, what do you wanna
