Bio

Hunters, Run! was started in the fall of 2004 by Larrian (L.I.) and Nelson (Nelson) Hunter as a recording project in Nelson's basement in Brooklyn. At the time Larrian was the singer/guitarist for Early Morning Band, a short lived project that rose out of the ashes of The Feud, an instrumental rock collective that ruled the school for many years. The songs for the recording project were written over the past year or so by Larrian, but bringing them into Nelson's basement brought a chance to really flesh them out. With Nelson on drums and recording duties, and Larrian playing pretty much everything else, the songs came together in an unexpectedly quick and robust way, giving the two the idea to put together a live band to try and play these songs out. In came Steve (Steven) Hunter from the lovely and talented The New Spain, to play guitar and sing. Recuited for the Thunderstick duties and additional vocals was Dan (Nads) Hunter, a childhood friend of Larrian's, and The foursome was set. But alas, the lords of rock decreed that a foursome would not be enough to sufficiently rock, so the band has added DJ Blood (El Topo) Hunter, former member of The Feud, and current member of The Gods of Fire on the keyboards, and Dug Hunter on Percussion and random banging noises. The lineup now in place, Hunters, Run! are preparing to take their high energy live show to stages all around this spinning sphere. The band is very versatile band in which no 2 songs sound alike. Still the songwriting is very cohesive and has a certain attitude and vibe that keeps everything together. Influences vary from song to song, but overall it is somewhere between Brian Wilson, Sonic Youth, Husker Du, CSN&Y and about a million other bands.
