"Hupp"

BandFolkSinger/Songwriter

"Hupp" is one of North Florida's top new acoustic performers! Extensive experience in live performance combined with thoughtfully crafted original material. A gifted singer and talented player whose warm voice and dynamic guitar playing grabs attention.

Biography

Hupp found the guitar and singing in his elementary years in rural Maryland. He was a singer and show choir performer by junior high and joined his first band before he could drive a car!

A unique blend of singer/songwriter acoustic performance, origrinal material and "non-commercial" songs which keep an audience engaged in the show.

His early influences included James Taylor, Harry Chapin, John Prine, Jim Croce, The Beatles, etc....and his original compositions reflect a heavy influence of artists like David Wilcox, Cliff Eberhardt, John Gorka, Ellis Paul and others.

"Hupp" is a clean living, hard working musician... who completed over 20 years on active duty in the United States Navy before retiring to pursue a full time career as an acoustic performer and songwriter.

His passion for music went in the Navy with him... During his 20 year Navy career he performed in bands, solo and duo acts; at festivals, clubs, and several shipboard concerts (supporting the USO) all over the U.S. as well as overseas... he has literally played thousands of "gigs" anywhere and everywhere people wanted and needed "live" music for the past 25 years.

He is now carrying his own messages forward, in well crafted and thoughtful original music. A mix of folk, blues, country, rock... his songs speak of life, love and loss, growing up and growing wiser... and provide a hopeful outlook for what a "good song" can do for the soul of those who might here it.

In addition, Hupp is an avid bicyclist and runner, completing numerous long distance road bike rides and running events, including a recent back to back half and full marathon in two days time.
