Bio

Hailing from Eugene, OR, Hyding Jekyll currently consists of 3 members: Greg Gillispie on vocals and bass, Justin Stover on drums, David Affinito on lead/rhythm guitar. The original members of the band (Greg, Justin, and Brian.) formed in April of 2008. The concept behind "Hyding Jekyll" has been to take groove style music, and infuse it with some heavy progressive rock/metal. This duality of ideals brings out a melodic, groove based, progressive rock sound, bordering on the edge of heavy metal. So whether the music is heavy or mellow, both sides of "Hyding Jekyll" are represented.

Hyding Jekyll's live debut was at the Taboo Nightclub in Eugene on the July 17th, 2008. The show was a great success, and the band has been going strong ever since. The versatility of their sound has allowed them to play with a wide variety of local acts, and they recently had the opportunity to open for national touring acts "Janus" and "Seasons After" at the WOW Hall in Eugene, OR.

In April of 2009, they participated in local radio station 97.9 KNRQ's "Last Band Standing"; A battle of the bands that featured 32 bands from all over the state of Oregon. Relatively unknown to the majority of the local scene, they made an immediate impact, winning the first round as the opening band. They continued to impress with their unique style, high energy, and raucous fans. Against tough odds, the guys made it to the final round. Despite not winning the top spot, and the coveted title of "Last Band Standing", it was a huge accomplishment for a band who had only been together for little over a year.

More recently, in September of 2009, they played at the Wow Hall in Eugene Oregon, a venue at which over 200 people attended, with 3 other bands for a Lost in the Woods production.

With their Heavy Funk sound, die hard attitude, and outstanding musical savvy, Hyding Jekyll looks to make an impact locally and beyond.
