Bio

Assuming that Hydro is not known by you the story goes like this; born in Glasgow you could say he was a somewhat ambitious and restless youth, with family based out in New York he got his one way flight to the Big Apple to get close and personal with his love Hip Hop. Ironically Hydro found love in New York more than once as documented on his single “Sugar” but as we all know love has its pros and cons and with both of his loves the journey was to end when he decided that time was running out on the streets of New York and purchased the flight back home.

Here he set his sights on academia but it wasn’t long before he got drawn back into his obsession with Hip Hop and set up his own indie label Underdogg Entertainment. His vision inspiration and uncompromising ability to move forward despite adversities brought him into 2008 with a #1 hit on the HMV download charts for 5 weeks with his first single “All Y’all” supported by the likes on Tim Westwood and Trevor Nelson, a second single that saw itself shortlisted on the BET awards in 2008 “Celebrate”; Most Inspirational Video and now a double A side single “Sugar” & “crowd Goes Wild”.

In 2007 you may have seen Hydro on the front cover of most if not all daily newspapers? In 2007 you may have seen him opening for NAS? However there is much more where that came from in 2008 with his album “Crucial”. It is fair to say that Underdogg Entertainment have not cut any corners on the production and the A&R of this album;
One of the UK’s leading playlist and programming managers said about Hydro and his album;
“I know Hydro he makes no compromises where his music is concerned.“

With production on the album from

L.E.S; 10 times Platinum with “Welcome to Miami” Will Smith, Nas’ Executive producer and has produced for the likes of J-Lo and 50 Cent, LES brings his distinctive bounce to the Hydro Project.

Clinton Sparks who has produced for Notorious B.I.G, Jay Z, Diddy & Akon to name but a few.

Mr Shabz; the man behind the boards of the So Solid Cru has now formulated one of UK’s strongest production teams Music Kidz with K1.

Krazygroove Productions; produced hits for the likes of Twista, Elephant Man and DMX.

Features from the legendary Busta Rhymes to everyone’s favorite thugged out rapper, NORE, give this album even more appeal. The latest addition from Akon’s Konvict camp, Rock City, are joined by Hussein Fatal from 2Pacs notorious Outlawz group on the dance hall inspired “Move Over”. Memphis Bleek makes sure you know “the ROC is in the building”. Along with Quan who many claim stole the show on Nas’ US and UK hit “Just a moment”. The seductive Shelene, whose voice produced the hit record, “Oochi Wally”, for Nas and the Bravehearts. Additionally Hydro is joined by Australian RnB starlet Che’Nelle on the Gladys knight remake “Sugar”. London born and bred hit making genius Kevin Leo comes from behind the scenes to lend a hand on two powerful tracks. The UK’s finest neo-soul vocalist Fyza, and the current face of Puma – Nana (from Architects fame), all combine to make this a – “A who could have made that kind of album?” Album.

I guess all that was crucial to say has been said. “Crucial” is on general release
